This week we are continuing to work on cutting, tracing and correct pen use. Jordan has gotten very good and is able to stay within the lines when doing mazes. He's also pretty much mastered straight line cutting. We will begin working on zig-zags and curves as the next step.
This week read "Jungle Book" and did a jungle scene craft. We visited our area library and borrowed some books, since we have no more room for new books. Our second book and craft came from "My Lucky Day" about a pig out smarting a hungry fox. We made the hero pig in the story. He's so cute it makes me almost want to give up pork….not really.
Jordan really enjoys making crafts after reading new or old books, he talks about it for days afterward.

What We're Reading
The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister, is about a little fish who learns a lesson about sharing. We especially like the shiny foil scales on the fish. Inspired by the book we decided to make our own. I think we did a pretty good job. All you need is some colorful paper, cut into small pieces, glue and construction paper cut into fish shapes.
We also read All Aboard the Dinotrain, a book we've read a million times. To make it more exciting we made our own trains when we were done. It was pretty fun to make some old books feel new again.
