Christmas 2008
Even though Daddy wasn't home to celebrate with us, we managed to get into the Christmas spirit. We spent Christmas Eve baking cookies for Santa and talking to Daddy via Skype. Christmas day was spent with all the family at Aunt Betty's house with lots of laughs and great food.

Learning the Numbers
I think he pretty much has this numbers thing covered. Who needs kindergarten, on to 1st grade!
Jordan's First Musical Show
Jordan had the opportunity to not only stay up pass his 8pm bedtime, but also see his first musical. Elmo and friends came to town and I knew Jordan would never forgive if he didn't get a chance to go. At first I don't think he understood what was going. As soon as Elmo appeared on stage you couldn't stop him from dancing and singing.

Boy Genius!
We've been working on learning numbers past few weeks. Not only can Jordan count to ten but he also recognizes his numbers in any order. He started pointing out numbers in books and on TV so I decided to get some flash cards to test his skills. Even though they are recommended for children 3 and up, he did pretty well!

Sharing the "Good" Stuff
Although Jordan has always enjoyed a cold cup of milk, he recently increased his consumption......it all makes sense now :)

An Exciting Week!
This week Jordan sported his "Toddlers for Obama" T-shirt on election day. I'm pretty sure that was the main reason we were able to sway the voters still on the fence to vote for Obama. Who could say no to that face. Although Jordan was not able to stay awake long enough for the results, he was sure his last minute campaigning would do the trick.
We ended the week by going to visit Granny. He was treated to lots of hugs and kisses and some great sweet potato pie!

Happy Halloween
Jordan has been in the Halloween spirit for about a week now. Last Saturday he went to the his first costume party as Spider Man
For Halloween he had the opportunity to dress up as his favorite Super Hero.....his Daddy

Happy Birthday Mommy
Jordan gave me a special birthday present by reading The Itsy Bitsy Spider for me this morning while wearing a shirt showing love for his "Mummy".
Daddy sent a beautiful bouquet of roses.......wish he could have sent himself
Thanks so much to both of my Jeds!!!
I'll be thinking of you as I head off to my Spa day.

Obama's In Town!!
Although Jordan didn't get to go to the rally today he was the first to see pictures when Mommy returned. It was an awesome opportunity to see our next president in person.
Getting Kinda Cold
With the morning temps hanging around 35 degrees, Jordan had the first opportunity to break out his new Broncos coat this past weekend.
He wore it with great pride like a true fan. He refuses to acknowledge the fact that our great Broncos have dropped 3 losses in row......not to mention the most recent MNF Massacre in New England
That's my boy!!!

Those Dang Tricky Spoons!
I'm working on teaching our little man better table manners by using forks and spoons. He clearly prefers the finger method since spoons can be a little tricky......especially when they are covered in applesauce. The first attempt was just a practice shot.

My New Ride
I found a way to take Jordan's love of books to a whole new level. In Barnes & Nobles I found a giant book that coverts into a truck he can sit in.
Of course no ride is complete without his best buddy, Elmo.

Story Time
Rather than wait for story time with Mommy, Jordan decided to take things into his own hands.
The true sign of his genius is that not only can he read at 17 months, but he can read upside-down!

Are You Ready for Some Football?!
Jordan was all geared up in his Broncos jersey for the first official Sunday of football for 2008. We watched the early games and Jordan worried with Mommy as we both realized I had the wrong line-up in for my Fantasy Football team. Tension grew after each touchdown Mike Turner received for my bench!
To get our minds off of my potential loss we took a trip to the park before coming back for the Sunday night game.

Labor Day Weekend Part-1
The Olympic Diving was such a big hit with Jordan that Daddy decided to record a little bit so that he could watch it whenever. As you can see he was really excited to see it after a week of absence.
Apparently his pants and diaper were causing way too much wind resistence with his diving practice that he had to remove them!

A Trip to the Children's Farm
Jordan just loves all the animals in his Old McDonald's Farm book, so I decided it was time to take him to see the real thing. By look on his face it was a little too close for comfort. He was ok talking to the animals as long as they stayed in their place.
We brought along Jordan's favorite ball to get some outdoor playtime in. He really enjoyed all that open space to play after being trapped inside all day
I'm pretty sure his favorite part of the day was the to nature exhibit where he got to play with an otter.

A Visit From Big Sis
We finished our fun filled weekend with a visit from Jordan's big sister Jada. With all of us together, I thought it would be nice to get a few informal family pictures. That proved to be more difficult than it sounds.
Jordan was definitely not in a posing mood.
Jada gave us her ANTM pose.
James and I just tried to get it over with :)

Jordan Meets Barney
We took a trip to the Children's Museum today to see Barney. I must say we truly underestimated his popularity. After arriving just as the doors open, we still found ourselves in a sea of other little fans.
Unfortunately Barney didn't hold Jordan's attention for very long. He was much more interested in returning back to the play room. We still had a great time
